set in lead, and no stain there, also did the Greek builders use lead
keys on the their stone work?

Hello,
I finally uploaded my pictures from the Munster Cathedral in Bern,
Switzerland. At the top of the towers they use lead between the blocks. On
the the more weather exposed faces the lead does not really stain as much.
On the protected areas the staining is more prevalent.
Needless to say, I was really impressed with the quality of the restoration
work that they were doing. It was well worth the hike up the tower. It's
funny that they collect the admission money halfway up. I guess anybody
that got that far doesn't mind spending the 4 Swiss Francs to see the rest.
And the view is awesome.
Please bear in mind that I did have to take a lot of these pics through
security bars and little slots through the stairwell walls.
Hope you like the pics
