Jim--
I abuse stones in Texas, my ancestral home. Canada is my joy and
occasional respite.
We have several grades of pink granite, containing large grains of
mica and feldspar-- rather large grained, I'm told. And several
beautiful grades of creamy to pink fine grained limestones. Also several
types of heavily fossiliferous limestones, some with large "opalized"
seashells that make tough carving because of the 10:1 hardness of
various areas of the stone. Texas Devilstone is what I call the stuff.
