Thanks for the recommendation, but why? """"""
Let me tell you why John, because I consider sculpture in general to be a
good motive of discussion regardless of the medium. When I search for
sculpture I don't limit my search to stone, even thought that's what I do
and love. I understand clay is about adding and stone about taking away.
Should we limit discussions to stone only? how about metals? My proposition
to talk about art was about the art per se, as we would talk when going
gallery hopping- that was the idea, remember?
I look at sculpture websites as a whole, the way they show the art, to see
if it works or not, to always learn. I look at the art, the drawings or
paintings if they have, I try to look at the whole package. The theme, the
message, the curriculum of the artist and background and how it influenced
him/her in the work.
I agree with you that sculpting stone is difficult and daring, different
than other methods and materials. I agree the sculptor didn't choose the
right words and maybe he even wasn't the one who wrote his statement. I just
saw his work and the live models and the beauty of his creation and was
impressed. Maybe it is because I have never tried clay and molds......I am
naive.....
I don't know...I just thought someone could start the conversation and I
guess I chose the wrong subject.
I am sorry for that, it wasn't my intention...not at all......au contraire
.....besides my English and knowledge is not to the level of most of
you........but I am learning.
Sorry to stir, disrupt or inconvenience ..........but sometimes a stir is
good...and we haven't had any in a few weeks ..or was it days?
Happy stoning!!!!!Yeah!!!! Ole!!!!
